The Spinney Pool and Poplar Pool that were dredged and stocked with fish in the 1970’s have now become wildlife habitats. In recent years to protect its wooded character some 200 native trees have been planted on the farm together with nearly one kilometre of new native hedging. The small copse to the north of the cottage was planted in 2007. Seven disease resistant elm trees have been planted have been planted to replace those that were killed by the Dutch-elm disease. |
