Oakwood Cottage enjoys splendid southerly views across unspoilt undulating Warwickshire landscape of fields and woodlands. It is tranquil, comfortable and well equipped and is situated in the heart of the “ Forest of Arden” area. It has its own garden with adjoining orchard planted with traditional fruit trees. It offers accommodation for 4 people and has parking for 2 cars. It offers an enjoyable break at all times of the year, from summer days enjoyed in the garden, to winter evenings by the log burner, or autumn mornings filled with mist. Guests can enjoy pleasant walks along public footpaths in the immediate area, while within short driving distance guests can visit the Shakespeare theatre at Stratford-on-Avon, Warwick castle and a number of National Trust Properties. Nearby Henley-in-Arden offers a good choice of pubs and restaurants Dating from the mid 1700’s Oakwood Cottage was originally smaller, comprising 2 small rooms, a lean-to kitchen and 2 small bedrooms. The Tithe Maps show it as separately owned from the farm and with a garden of some 2 acres stretching alongside the bridleway. It was fully rebuilt in 2002, retaining much of the original character including the inglenook fireplace, and incorporating the necessary modern luxuries. It has been furnished in a sympathetic and comfortable style.
