Walks - take a walk along the bridlepath, which leads through the fields to Alderhanger Lane, or take the footpath across the fields, passing the Poplar Pool. Longer walks take you to the nearby picturesque village of Tanworth-in-Arden. Tanworth in Arden (1 mile) - Tanworth was previously surrounded by the vast Forest of Arden before the forest was cleared to make way for the industrial revolution in the English midlands. Notable historical buildings still standing in the village include The Bell Inn public house and the 14th-century Church of St. Mary Magdalene. Henley-in-Arden ( 4 miles) – the market town of Henley-in-Arden traces its history back nearly 1000 years. Along the High Street are over 150 listed buldings including the Guild Hall, and an excellent choice of pubs, cafes and restaurants, and the famous Henley ice-cream shop. Stratford Upon Avon (15 miles) - Historic town and birthplace of William Shakespeare. Attractions include Shakespeare’s Birthplace, Anne Hathaway’s Cottage, the Royal Shakespeare Theatre, boating on the river Avon in the summer Warwick (12 miles) - Breathtakingly beautiful and seeped in history Warwick Castle offers its visitors an exciting glimpse of over 1000 years of history. Tour the Castle with its dungeons, towers and state rooms and the gardens which are as interesting with a magnificent Conservatory and Peacock garden, the river and island and the beautiful Victorian Rose Garden.
